Polypropylene tape can be separated into three categories.
Polypropylene acrylic tape is an eco-friendly substitute to hotmelt and solvent tapes. It is water based and offers excellent UV resistance.
Hotmelt tape is an economical adhesive that provides quality adhesion for corrugated surfaces and general packaging.
Solvent tape offers exceptional adhesion to polythene products and supports adhesion in cold environments – great for long-term use.
When purchasing a packaging tape take into consideration the weight of your packages and how strong your tape needs to be. At Ferrari Packaging, our tapes come in a variety of materials, shapes and sizes. We supply the following tapes:
Acrylic Tape is functional in both hot and cold temperatures and is great for using in refrigerated/frozen storage units.
It's also recommended for packaging that will be kept in storage for long periods of time as it's unlikely to oxidize and will not go yellow with age.
Hotmelt tape and acrylic tape are both great options for sealing packages so the answer depends on your business needs.
Things to consider when choosing the right tape include what products you are transporting, how heavy they are and whether the package is going to be kept in storage for a long period of time.
Acrylic tape works well for long term storage or if the parcel(s) is likely to experience changes in temperature.
Generally, hotmelt tape will stick quicker making it the more efficient tape as it takes less time to apply. Hotmelt tape is another good option if you are taping packages in bulk or packages that will need to withstand pressure during transit.
