Are you purchasing and packaging tape for the first time and don’t know where to start? There is lots to take into consideration when buying a packaging tape for the first time. Buying a tape which will support the the weight of your packages is one of the most important factors. At Ferrari Packaging, our tapes come in a variety of materials, shapes and sizes. Solvent polypropylene Tape is built with a polypropylene carrier and solvent adhesive. Solvent Tape is often more expensive than other taping options as it can be used generally – making it a great investment. Solvent tape is a sturdy option but it at its best in a minimal pressure environment.
Like most adhesive tapes, Solvent adhesive tapes can be is time sensitive and may need a short period of time in between packaging and transit for the adhesive to set properly. If you allow your packaging tape to set correctly it will maximise your packaging protection.
The suggested time to leave your packaging tape to set without any intrusion is 20 minutes. This may vary depending on which packaging tape you have chosen as some may take longer than others. A general guide would suggest that the longer the tape is left without contact, the better the result will be.
Another factor which should be considered when applying tape to your packaging is what kind of material is it being applied to and what condition is that material in. For best application results it is suggested that the surface should be clean, dry, free of oil, grease, dust, fibres, or any other dirt. If your packages are in bad condition it may reduce the effectiveness of adhesion. For a consistent result try to use the best condition of packages as possible. For great results try to use flat and even material.
